A Personal Connection to Hawaii
James is a Honolulu-based wedding officiant who brings a unique perspective and deep appreciation for Hawaii to every ceremony. Born in China and raised in Hawaii since the age of five, James embraces the Aloha spirit and understands the significance of celebrating love and commitment in this beautiful island paradise.
His journey to becoming a wedding officiant followed over a decade of involvement in the wedding industry..James is passionate about performing meaningful ceremonies that reflect the love of the couple as well as the shared love between their family and friends.
Before becoming a Hawaii wedding officiant, James owned and operated a video production company for over 15 years specializing in wedding films, giving him a strong understanding of ceremony flow, timing, and presentation. On the opposite side of the lens, James also comes from a performance background with multiple credits in TV, Film and stage acting. He has been seen on local productions such as Hawaii Five-O and Magnum P.I.
Life Beyond Weddings
Married to his wife since 1996, James believes deeply in marriage and family. When he is not officiating weddings, James enjoys spending time with his wife, their two daughters, and their dogs, Chewie and Solo, at their home in Honolulu.
In his free time, James enjoys his involvement with the community through his time as an ambassador for the Hawaii Chamber of Commerce, cooking, and going to the gym, but most of all, spending time with family and friends.
