We had pretty wet weather these last for weeks. Typically, April tends to rain but this year was more than usual. I received many calls from concerned brides wondering if they should postpone or change their locations. But out of the many destination elopement weddings I performed – not a single one rained out. This particular wedding was held on Ciinco De Mayo. The forecast was grim but once again, everything turned out perfectly. As you can see from the photos, there were clouds overhead but it provided great cover for shade and an ideal lighting situation for these beautiful photos.
About the location – Makapuu Beach. This is one of my favorite spots for a destination elopement wedding elopement. It is ideal for a small group of people. You want to keep it small because there is very little parking available. Once you arrive, there will be a variety of scenic backdrops to choose from. All of them will offer a dramatic look for your beach wedding photos. There are cliffs with crashing waves. You can also pick a location closer to the water that showcases a few uninhabited islands in the background. Either way, you can’t go wrong and you’ll have that perfect instagram wedding photo to share with the world.
